Derrick Rose having a chance to be in a championship rotation before he retires? Sign me up! The 16-year NBA vet and former MVP is worth a flier. Rose would bring a level of poise to the second unit and 52 games of playoff experience. This past year the guard averaged eight points, three assists, and two rebounds on 46% shooting overall and 37% from three in just 17 minutes of playing time.
The Grizzlies are becoming overcrowded in the backcourt with the returns of Ja Morant, former Cs heart and soul Marcus Smart, Desmond Bane, and the emergence of Scotty Pippen Jr as a piece for the future. Their timeline for contending and the clock on Derrick Rose's career do not mesh. The one concern in trading for the veteran is his extensive injury history, but when he's healthy, he is a risk worth taking.
