One is Jayson Tatum's best friend, another was in a package traded for Derrick White, and the last player priced himself out of Boston.

Javonte Green

After going unsigned in 2023 free agency there was a legit concern of Javonte Green being permanently out of the NBA. However, the Chicago Bulls eventually heard the fans' disagreement with their decision and would bring him back. The forward is high-energy and has undeniable hustle.

During the final nine games of the season, the guard averaged 12.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and a block per game on 60% shooting overall and 37% from three.

These numbers make the Bulls a serious threat to retain the services of Green, but maybe Jayson Tatum can talk to one of his best friends and convince him to sacrifice a big payday for a chance at a championship.

The 30-year-old has proved himself worthy of being in a playoff rotation. He averaged 3.6 points and two boards on 53% shooting in roughly 12 minutes a night across 73 games in two seasons for the Boston Celtics.
