3 former Boston Celtics who we want to see in green again: Part 1
Marcus Morris Sr
Marcus Morris Sr. is a free agent coming off a season where he split time between being a Philadelphia Sixer and a Cleveland Cavalier. In 49 games of the 2023-24 season, the forward averaged 6.3 points and 2.5 rebounds on 44% shooting overall and 41% from three in 16 minutes of action. The crowning moment was in Game 5 of the Eastern Semifinals where Morris erupted for 25 points on five made threes against the Boston Celtics, his former team.
Coming off what should be his last hefty payday in the NBA, the veteran's market should be in the boat of a minimum contract. At this stage of his career, Morris should be willing to take a discount to return to a city where he was a fan favorite and could compete for a championship. As a Celtic, "Mookie" as they called him was a three-level scorer known for his toughness, versatility defensively, and being uncannily clutch. The vet played in 129 games for the Cs spanning two seasons with averages of 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists and hit 37% on treys on 4.8 attempts.
