3 Former Boston Celtics struggling in the 2024 NBA postseason

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing as we speak, and if you look around the league, then you will notice many familiar faces as a Boston Celtics fan. In the Postseason, there are 15 former Cs in all. The following list is a ranking of the three former Celtics who are struggling the most: one big man cannot find his consistency on a playoff foe, another wing cannot hit the side of a barn in Milwaukee. And a former All-Star, now held scoreless in over 40 minutes of playing time.

Gordon Hayward

Gordon Hayward did not start his Celtic tenure on the right foot as he literally went out and broke a leg. The wing's best year was the 2019-20 season where as a 4th option, he averaged 17.5 points, a career high 6.7 rebounds, and  4.1 assists on 50% from the field, 39% from three, and 85% from the line. The next stint saw him play sparingly in Charlotte for over three years, making around $31 million per year.

After his time in Boston, he would play with the Hornets and the Thunder. In the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Hayward has played 43 minutes across six games for OKC and has yet to score a single point. When the six-foot-nine forward is out on the floor, it appears his confidence is shot and is mostly just doing cardio at this point. This may very well be his last NBA contract.

These former Boston Celtics are possibly playing final meaningful games

These players may have played or be playing in their last minutes of NBA action.

Morris is looking like a shell of himself and his impact often mirrors his brother who is a non-factor. Crowder is not having the same impact defensively and cannot hit a trey to save his career. Hayward seems to have already headed to Cancun mentally as the effort is on vacation.
