Monday brought mixed news on the injury front for the New Orleans Pelicans. As they prepare to host the Boston Celtics at the Smoothie King Center, they have added Zion Williamson to their injury report. The two-time All-Star is dealing with a bone contusion in his left foot. They list him as questionable for Monday night's matchup.
Williamson has generated 27 points in each of New Orleans' first two tilts. He has done so without attempting a single three-pointer this season. He nearly registered a triple-double in Friday's 120-116 overtime loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The former Duke Blue Devil paired his point production with 10 rebounds, including five at the offensive end, seven assists, and three steals.
If Williamson can suit up against the Celtics, the Pelicans will have their starting lineup intact again. They were without starting center Yves Missi against the Spurs on Friday. However, after going through the entirety of Sunday's practice, New Orleans has upgraded him from questionable to available for Monday's contest.

"Feeling way better. At the moment, it was really hurting, but now it seems better. Moving a little better," Missi told the local media about working his way back from the ankle injury that sidelined him against San Antonio. "I think I'm good."
The second-year center had five points and seven rebounds, including three at the offensive end of the floor, plus a steal and a block in the Pelicans' 128-122 opening night loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The hosts will also get Karlo Matkovic back on Monday night. The six-foot-11 power forward will make his season debut against Boston. The former second-round pick averaged 7.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks as a rookie last year.
However, along with Dejounte Murray, who is rehabbing a torn Achilles, the Pelicans won't have Kevon Looney in the lineup. The latter is dealing with a left knee sprain that has prevented him from making his team debut.
The latest on Jaylen Brown's status vs. the Pelicans
While New Orleans is awaiting a final verdict on Zion Williamson's status, Boston is doing the same with Jaylen Brown.
After the Celtics' 119-113 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, the four-time All-Star expressed his desire to play in the second half of Boston's back-to-back.
"It was all right. It was a little tight today, I think just taking some smaller steps, but going into the back-to-back, we got to figure out how to get one game," said Brown after registering 41 points in the defeat.
"So, I'm just doing everything I possibly can to be as ready as possible. That's the key. I think I just want to be on the floor every night, if I can be. So, we got a back-to-back first, back-to-back of the year. I'm looking forward to it."
As Brown pushes to play, the Celtics list him as questionable for Monday night's matchup, which is scheduled to tip off at 8:00 EST.
