The Boston Celtics adding Mitchell Robinson didn't get talked about enough this summer. That's primarily because the signing happened only a hour or so before the Jaylen Brown trade happened. Boston adding one of the league's premier centers on the market while taking him away from New York should have been made a bigger deal than it was.

Robinson's prowess as a rebounder and as someone who is quite disruptive as a defender should make Boston even more formidable. It could get even scarier, too, as Robinson recently went on record talking not just about his confidence in his all-around abilities, but also about how taking recovery seriously could be a huge boon for Boston this season.

“I was in the gym, hooping, doing my s**t, working out with my coach in Boston. You know what he said? He didn’t know that I had the s**t that I showed tonight. The ball-handling, the shooting, the touch, and right now I’m just so confident in myself,” Robinson said on Snapchat. “I feel like this is going to be a great year for me.”

"...I feel like this is going to be a great year for me. As you can see, I’m starting to take recovery a lot more seriously."

Robinson taking better care of his body is actually a fantastic development for the Celtics because if that persists throughout the season, he may actuall be able to avoid injuries. He has a reputation for being an injury-prone player, but if he takes better care of his body, maybe that won't be as much of a concern for Boston.

It's not like an absence would hurt Boston

Robinson is a game-changer for the Celtics because of how impactful he is on the boards on both sides and that he is very tough to score on no matter who he covers. Boston added him knowing too well that he is an injury-prone player.

However, the Celtics are also well-equipped to deal with this because they have Luka Garza, who was awesome in his backup role last year, Amari Williams, who didn't look too shabby when the Celtics gave him minutes, and Chris Cenac Jr., who was believed to be a lottery pick before his draft stock fell.

Robinson may very well have his healthiest year as a pro, but Boston won't coint on him to do so. They only want him healthy for the playoffs, and that's all that matters. Because of their depth, they should be more than comfortable no matter how it shakes out with Robinson.
