Mitchell Robinson is already winning over Celtics fans before even playing a minute

Celtics center Mitchell Robinson is one of the most hilarious social media posters I've ever seen.

I was about as excited as I’ve been for any Boston Celtics move, probably since the team traded for Jrue Holiday, when they signed Mitchell Robinson earlier this month. Robinson seemingly always killed the Celtics when they’d play the New York Knicks. Whenever he’d check in off the bench, the offensive rebounding machine would get busy and create second and third chances for the Knicks.

With how heavily Boston leaned into the offensive glass last season, ranking fifth in second-chance points, adding fifth best offensive rebounder in the NBA is quite the come up, plain and simple.

If he can stay healthy, Robinson should be a cheat code for the Celtics this season.

Mitchell Robinson is a generational poster

While we all wait in anticipation, the big man is keeping everyone entertained on social media. When Boston landed Big Mitch on a three-year, $47 million contract, I had no idea how much of an elite poster he was.

Every time I’ve seen a post of his trickle onto my timeline, it’s an absolute banger.

Exhibit A is this selfie where Robinson is rolling with a blonde “Larry Bird” type mullet wig. Like, anytime he sinks both free throws on a trip to the line, we’ve all gotta be spamming that one on Twitter.

Not long ago, we all got a glimpse of Robinson’s famous pickup truck, which he managed to get included in New York’s championship parade last month, now decked out with Celtics green LED lights.

I genuinely hope I’m making my way to TD Garden next season and see the big rig rolling through the North End.

It may simply be the fact that I’m perpetually online, but there’s something extremely relatable about seeing a player respond to trolls or funny posts on social media, especially because most are encouraged not to do so to avoid losing out on any endorsement or sponsorship opportunities.

Players who let their personalities shine through resonate far better with fans than those who are PR robots.

Even though there’s some friendly fire here, it cracked me up seeing Robinson clap back at a poster who wanted to focus on his poor free-throw shooting.

When the clip of head coach Joe Mazzulla getting after it in the MMA octagon in Las Vegas went viral last week, Robinson had to chime in and let it be known that he’s riding with that sort of energy from the man in charge.

Who knows what sort of content we’re in store for over the next few months and even into the season? One thing is certain -- I can’t wait to find out.
