The Detroit Pistons have waived Ron Harper Jr., per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. In January, the six-foot-four wing joined the franchise that calls "The Motor City" home on a two-way deal.

Harper appeared in one game with Detroit. He logged 17 minutes in the parent club's final regular-season game, a tilt against the Milwaukee Bucks. He registered four points, seven rebounds, and two assists in a 140-133 overtime loss.

Before signing with the Pistons, the former St. John's standout was suiting up for the Boston Celtics' G League affiliate in Maine. In one of his last appearances with them, he generated 25 points, buried six threes, snagged five rebounds, and dished out four assists.

That performance came in a one-point win over the team he'd soon become a part of, the Motor City Cruise.

Harper averaged 18.2 points and knocked down 39 percent of the 8.9 threes he hoisted in 37 combined games with the Pistons and Celtics' G League affiliates. He also grabbed 4.5 rebounds and distributed 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

Isaiah Wong searches for his next NBA opportunity

Isaiah Wong has earned NBA opportunities with the Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets. He joined both teams on two-way deals. In between those chances, he signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Utah Jazz. However, he never appeared in a regular-season contest with the latter.

A season after his lone cameo with the Pacers, the former Miami Hurricanes star suited up in 20 tilts with the Hornets during the 2024-25 campaign. He averaged 6.0 points, converted on 39.4 percent of his 1.7 three-point attempts, pulled down 1.6 rebounds, and distributed 1.4 assists with Charlotte.

Most recently, Wong helped lead Lithuanian basketball club Žalgiris to an LKL championship. In Las Vegas, he told Hardwood Houdini he viewed playing with the Celtics' Summer League squad as a "great opportunity for me to get some run in and try to get back to the NBA."

When asked what he wanted to showcase in Sin City, he conveyed, "My defense and playmaking. I know how to run a team, and I know how to run it to the best [of my] ability."

Wong did just that, making a two-way impact at Summer League. He looked comfortable running the point, and his quick-twitch downhill attacks led to him creating and capitalizing on quality shots with regularity.

“Trying to get everybody involved. I felt like when I did that, they got me back involved. So, I felt real good about this Summer League," Wong told Hardwood Houdini after Boston's win over the Atlanta Hawks to cap the team's stay in Las Vegas.

But when it comes to what's next and whether Wong anticipates joining the Celtics for training camp, he simply stated to Hardwood Houdini, “I’m going to see where life takes me, man. Wait for the calls and just wait for the opportunity.”
