Luka Garza’s dad recently went viral on Twitter for a post that he made about his son’s work ethic and how much he loves that he gets to be a part of the Boston Celtics organization:
“I can’t put into words what it means to see my son wear the green and white of the Boston Celtics. Since a boy, Luka's been a Fan. For us, it’s not just about 🏀, it’s about legacy & being part of something bigger than yourself. Every summer, Luka and I focus on areas where he needs growth. Many times this involves 3-4 workouts/day, the majority w/o the 🏀; Luka’s body transformation, improvements on defense, strength, hand speed, along w/mental work, reflect this. Most people overlook Luka's growth & judge quickly based on his NPOY days. To know Luka is to understand his resilience and continual transformation; you can't count him out ever. We’re blessed. We’re grateful. And above all, we’re proud to be part of the Celtics family.💚🦚”

And so far this season, Garza has looke good.
How has Luka Garza been for Celtics?
The Detroit Pistons game was relatively shaky for Garza, though nobody on the Celtics looked particularly great in the first few contests of the year. They lost their first three games for their first 0-3 start since the 2013-14 season.
In the two contests since then, Garza has taken things up a notch. His rebounding efforts, three-point shooting, and floater work in the lane have been very impressive.
Garza has only appeared in four of the Celtics’ five games, as in the season against the Philadelphia 76ers, he took a shot to the head and entered concussion protocol. He missed their game against the New York Knicks.
But in the two games since the tough Pistons game, Garza has been great. He put up a 16-point, six-rebound performance in the Celtics’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans, shooting 5-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
Then, in the Celtics’ win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, Garza got to show off his rebounding skills, as well as his touch inside the painted area.
He finished that game with 10 points, five rebounds (all on the offensive end), two assists, a steal, and a block. Garza shot 3-of-6 from the floor, spearheaded by a 3-of-4 performance on two-pointers.
And though all of his boards came on the offensive glass, his boxouts on the other side of the floor worked wonders for the Celtics.
If he can keep up the momentum he’s garnered over the past two games, Boston might have a legitimate backup center on its hands.
