Jaylen Brown just won Eastern Conference Player of the Week, putting up monster stats en route to leading the Boston Celtics to a 4-0 record. He’s been leading the Celtics all season as their No. 1 option, pushing them all the way up to the three seed in the East. Now, he has Boston in a position to be a serious threat.
The Celtics have been on fire lately, taking down top East team after top East team. In the last 10 games alone, they’ve gone 8-2, taking down the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Toronto Raptors.
And all the while Brown has been incredible.
Jaylen Brown wins NBA Player of the Week
This past week, in particular, has solidified Brown’s place as an elite lead offensive creator for a playoff team. And Boston has been playing like more than just a playoff team.
Obviously, the scoring has been there for Brown. He’s the sixth-leading scorer in the NBA this season, putting up 29.1 points per game, and that number has been up in the last week.

Over the course of the last four games, Brown has averaged 34.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists while shooting 53.8% from the floor and 47.1% from deep on 5.7 three-point attempts per contest (though he has only played in three of those games).
But those assists, those 5.7 assists per game Brown has averaged for the last three games, aren’t even indicative of how much the Celtics have benefited from his gravity on the floor.
Everywhere Brown has gone on the court, defenders have swarmed. Even when he’s not getting the assist, Brown is drawing multiple defenders, kicking the ball out, and Boston is finding a good shot thanks to him.
And the last week has been particularly impressive, as Boston has won in dominating fashion lately. They absolutely destroyed the Los Angeles Lakers at home before taking a massive lead on the Toronto Raptors (and fending off their comeback attempt).
Add in an impressive win over the New York Knicks in Boston, and Brown has been leading great win after great win. And lucky for him, his squad was able to take care of business against the Washington Wizards when he was out.
Winning Player of the Week is indicative of just how amazing Brown has been for Boston all year, and in this week, in particular, has been a dominant one for the Celtics star.
