And just like that, it's over. Well, not over over. But the regular season is over. When many thought the Boston Celtics were in for a gap year, they not only proved everyone wrong, but they managed to fare just about as well as they did last year.

Just look at what their record is after beating Orlando in what was a must-win for the Magic, with no stakes whatsoever for the Celtics.

In a season where Jayson Tatum didn't make his debut until March, where Boston lost Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, Al Horford, and Luke Kornet, and where the Celtics lost their first three games of the season, this season had all the makings of a miserable one to watch.

As a cherry on top, Boston just beat the team they may very well face in the first round of the playoffs with their second and third stringers to throw at them at full-strength. Even with the season effectively done with essentially nothing to prove, the Celtics still put on a show, exerting their infallible depth even when their active roster was undermanned enough for them to lose.

No one would have had a problem if they did, but Boston shows it cares from start to finish even when they have nothing to play for.

This is one of the most miraculous Celtics seasons ever

While not one of the best Celtics seasons, this is definitely one fans will remember for a long time, regardless if they win the title or not. So much was going against Boston going into the season, and it ultimately did not matter.

Jaylen Brown looked like an MVP candidate, Joe Mazzulla looked like a Coach of the Year candidate, Derrick White looked like a DPOY candidate, and the all-around development from the entire Tatum-less roster kept the team among the Eastern Conference's best.

It would be great if they could add a title to this team, and they've proven enough to demonstrate that hoping for one isn't out of the question, but the fanbase will remember the anomaly this season because of what they managed to do without "The Anomaly" and how well they were able to re-integrate him with such little time left.

Celtics fans have seen miracles happen before, but not quite like this. Four years prior, Boston went from the No. 11 seed to the No. 2 seed, as finally getting healthy and the addition of some dude named Derrick White completely turned around the season when many believes there were long-term questions about them.

This season didn't ask many questions what was about to happen next, but many wondered where the team would go without Tatum and how Tatum would look while coming back from an Achilles tear.

It would have been satisfactory enough just to get a playoff spot. But to potentially have homecourt advantage for the first two playoff rounds? Last year, that was expected, but this year, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who truly believed that was on the table.

Boston might not win a title when it's all said and done, but this team will be remembered for years to come!
