One of the Boston Celtics' standouts at Summer League was Charles Bassey. It came as no surprise that a player of his talent, with four years of NBA experience, would shine against the caliber of competition he faced.
The six-foot-10 center played in three games in Las Vegas. There, he averaged 15.3 points and shot 70.4 percent from the field. Bassey also grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 2.0 shots per contest.
After showcasing himself in Sin City, he's drawing interest from the Italian club Virtus Bologna, per Sportando. With his free-agent market heating up, Eurohoops reports that among his international suitors, Bassey's "leaning toward KK Partizan."
His agent, Mark McNeil, told Meridian Sport, "Charles is honored by the interest shown by Basketball Club Partizan. McNeil also stated, "He is definitely considering the offer and will continue discussions with the club and his representative. Other European clubs have also contacted him, but Partizan has been his priority."
So, while the Celtics would love to continue working with Bassey, it seems that he will most likely take his talents overseas. Specifically, KK Partizan, a Belgrade-based club, appears as the favorite to land him.
Aaron Scott's standout trait impresses the Celtics
In Boston's Summer League finale, Aaron Scott finally got his chance. When he got in the game, he quickly made his presence felt.
Scott grabbed six offensive rebounds in the first two frames of the Celtics' win over the Atlanta Hawks. He relentlessly crashed the glass, elevating over guards who tried to box him out and tipping the ball to his teammates to extend possessions.
When the final buzzer blew, the six-foot-seven wing had registered three points, nine rebounds, including seven at the offensive end, three assists, one steal, and one block.
While discussing his standout trait after the victory vs. the Hawks, Scott credited his coach at St. John's, a familiar figure to Celtics fans, for accentuating what he does best on the court.
“I was like this before, throughout my whole years of college,” voiced Scott. “But Coach Pitino elevated it. Like I said, he knows how he gets his players to buy in, and he just elevated that.”
Asked Matt Reynolds what he saw from Aaron Scott, who came in and immediately made an impact on the offensive glass in his best chance to showcase what he’s capable of.

Matt Reynolds, his bench boss at Summer League, told Hardwood Houdini of Scott's effort on the boards, “Having watched him at St. John’s, he said that wasn’t even an option," adding, "We knew that’s exactly the type of player he is."
Reynolds also credited the Texas native for bringing Boston "a little bit of life when it was a little quiet out there.”

Don't expect Scott to earn the Celtics' 15th roster spot, a vacancy they created by waiving JD Davison. However, he has the tools to make an impact for the team's G League affiliate. In Maine, he can continue carving out playing time by extending possessions while honing his craft in hopes of something more.
