The Boston Celtics brought back the same roster they had last year heading into this season, hoping to repeat their championship success. Guys like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford have been staples of the organization for years, but there has also been some significant turnover in recent years.

Not every season is like this one. More often than not, the Celtics roster looks different year over year, and as they were attempting to build the perfect team around Tatum and Brown, they went through a bunch of different supporting cast pieces. But what are those players up to now?

Here are five former Celtics you didn’t know were still playing professional basketball.

1. Semi Ojeleye

For a little while, Semi Ojeleye was a legitimate part of the Celtics’ rotation. His rock-solid defense made him a useful piece, especially when going up against someone like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He eventually flamed out of the NBA but is now playing basketball in Spain for Valencia. Before that, he was playing for Virtus Bologna in Italy.

This season for Valencia, Ojeleye is averaging 13.5 points and 4.0 assists while shooting 42.4% from the floor and 37.1% from behind the three-point line.

2. Romeo Langford

Boston shipped out Romeo Langford in the deal that landed them Derrick White, who has since become a crucial part of the team’s success.

Langford spent a bit of time in San Antonio before briefly bouncing around the NBA, including some time in the G League. And it wasn’t long before he was out of the league altogether.

This season is his first overseas, and he’s playing for BCM Gravelines-Dunkerqu in France. In three games, he has played 13.3 minutes per game, averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds while shooting 18.2% from the field and 0.0% from three-point range.

3. Shane Larkin

It’s been a while since Shane Larkin suited up for a team in the NBA, but he played 54 games for the Celtics in the 2017-18 season. Since then, he’s become one of the best international basketball players.

Larkin has bounced around various international league, putting up huge scoring numbers. He’s won the EuroLeague twice and the Turkish Super Cup four times.

Now, Larkin is the captain of Tuskish club Anadolu Efes. This season, he’s averaging 10.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists while shooting 43.1% from the field and 32.1% from deep.
