Jaylen Brown had perfect reaction to Luke Kornet’s latest on-court antics

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics absolutely demolished the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. Well, it was kind of the Sixers. It was more of a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ type of deal. Or, in this case, sheep in wolves’ clothing. Philly rolled out a lineup of youngsters and Exhibit 10 guys, and Boston picked up a 139-89 victory where Luke Kornet was the shining star.
Kornet dominated the first quarter. He had 11 points and four rebounds before he checked out of the game for the first time, and he even had time for some in-game celebrations. The big man threw up 10 fingers when he cracked the double-digit mark in the first quarter, and after a layup, he checked his hand as if to signal that he was on fire.
Jaylen Brown was a big fan.

After the game, Brown delivered a perfect response to Kornet’s on-court antics.
“Gotta love the Kornet celebrations,” Brown said. “Where would we be without those? We love to have personality on our team and have fun, and Luke, he's the spirit of that. So, we like to get him going. We like to get those celebrations going. That means we're doing good in the game.”
Brown’s praise for Kornet went beyond the jokes, however.
The two Celtics starters formed an elite two-man game early in the contest. Brown threw out a pair of nifty dimes to the big man, and a third would have been in play had the Sixers not committed a foul.
Kornet has been starting in place of Al Horford during the preseason, and Brown had nothing but good things to say about his teammate’s play.
“Luke knows how to play,” said Brown. “Being in the right place at the right time. So, being able to find him and get him going helps our offense and everybody else get easy ones. So, we look forward for Luke to be able to step up and make plays for us on both ends. He's a big part of our offense.”
In Boston’s Abu Dhabi preseason games, Kornet did most of his work out of the short roll. This time, he hovered around the rim, waiting for his teammates to hit him in the right spot to finish an easy bucket.
Kornet’s positioning has been elite so far, and he’s slowly but surely proving that Celtics fans shouldn’t be worried about Kristaps Porzingis’ extended absence.
He’s ready to help fill the void.
