The Boston Celtics have been cruising this season. Despite their most recent loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Celtics still stand as one of the best teams in the league, with only the Cleveland Cavaliers sitting above them atop the Eastern Conference. With that level of success comes some room for run discussion topics, including Jaylen Brown’s.
At practice on Wednesday, Brown spoke about his experience at Harry Potter: The Exhibition, an exhibit currently on display in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It offers a real-life dive into the series, including interactive activities and various stations that engulf patrons into the world of Harry Potter.
Brown recently paid it a visit, and he came back with some news.
Jaylen Brown is a Slytherin, and it makes a ton of sense
Apparently, he’s a Slytherin.
“I'm house Slytherin, by the way,” Brown said with a smile. “You don't see it? Slytherin. Team Slytherin.”
Brown said he enjoyed the experience, but what he loves most is passing down the stories and tales to his younger nieces and nephews.
“I read the books. I read the first four books, I didn't read all seven. And, of course, I watched every movie. I was a big fan. Still am,” Brown said. “I like to share with my younger nieces and nephews and stuff coming up. Share the same joy that I had. I like to pass it on to them. It was pretty cool. You got to go into each house.”
Perhaps Brown’s Slytherin connection can be rooted back to his Celtics link and the affinity for green. Or maybe he just fits the personality traits to a tee.
Regardless, he would have certainly been gunning for Draco Malfoy’s spot in the Quidditch team. The sport would have been right in his wheelhouse.
“Definitely, I would have been a Quidditch All-American for sure,” Brown said. “Would have helped lead our team to a championship.”
If anyone on the Celtics were to be a Slytherin, it makes sense that Brown would fall into that category. Maybe Jayson Tatum would be a Gryffindor. Derrick White a Hufflepuff. Jrue Holiday a Ravenclaw. Al Horford… Dumbledore?
Regardless, Brown seemed to thoroughly enjoy his time at the Harry Potter exhibit in Cambridge, but now, it’s back to work for the Celtics.
The Detroit Pistons will be in town on Thursday night for the two sides’ third matchup of the season, and the Celtics are 2-0 through the first two games. Brown will be hoping to make it three.
