Two New York Knicks players have had their statuses for Friday’s game against the Boston Celtics changed: Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart have both been upgraded to available. Mitchell Robinson remains out after missing the Knicks’ season opener due to left ankle injury management.

Only two Celtics players are on the injury report for Friday night’s contest vs. the Knicks: Jayson Tatum and Luka Garza. Tatum is out as he continues to recover from his ruptured Achilles. Meanwhile, Garza is in concussion protocol after taking a shot to the face in Boston’s season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

The rest of the roster is healthy and ready to go. Jaylen Brown was on the injury report (listed as questionable) ahead of the Celtics’ first game, but he was upgraded to available about an hour before tip-off. He is nowhere to be found on the injury report for the game against New York.

Boston’s health is in a good spot.

Celtics vs. Knicks injury report (10/24)

Here is the full Celtics injury report:

  • Luka Garza - Concussion Protocol - OUT
  • Jayson Tatum - Right Achilles Repair - OUT

Here is the full Knicks injury report:

  • Mitchell Robinson - Ankle - OUT
  • Josh Hart - Back - AVAILABLE
  • Karl-Anthony Towns - Quad - AVAILABLE
  • OG Anunoby - Ankle - AVAILABLE

Robinson missed the first game of the season due to load management, which drew some suspicion across the league regarding if the Knicks have been hiding injury statuses. He’s out for the same reason in their second game of the year.

The same could be said for Hart. He tweaked his back in the Knicks’ first preseason game and proceeded to launch the ball into the stands. He was ejected for the incident.

At the time, the Knicks claimed that Hart wasn’t hurt, but only did not return to the game due to the ejection. Evidently, he did injure his back. It was an odd situation.

Towns played alongside Ariel Hukporti in the starting lineup in New York’s season opener, undoubtedly due to the absence of both Hart and Robinson.

Boston’s injury situation is far less complicated, as previously noted.

Garza’s ailment shouldn’t be a long-term issue, though it will completely depend on the severity of the concussion he suffered in the game against the Sixers. Joe Mazzulla mentioned pre-game that there is no specific timeline for his recovery yet.

As for Tatum, his injury has been well-documented at this point. The Celtics are preparing to play without him this season, though, based on his various mini media tours and social media posts, it looks like he wants to be back on the floor this year.
