Opening Night Prediction

Based on the history these two teams have with each other, it’s hard to picture tomorrow’s game being anything but close. The Knicks could very well upset the Boston Celtics and make a statement win on their own home floor.

If the Celtics starters can get off to a fast start like they’ve shown they can do in the preseason, I can easily see Boston jumping out to an early lead in the first half. The big question is, will the second half woes come back to haunt them like it often did last season if that were to happen? If so, that’s another issue the Cs will certainly have to address.

However, it’s hard to see the Knicks not putting up a fight in front of their home crowd in New York City. Madison Square Garden will be rocking, and the Knicks will certainly go on plenty of runs. Ultimately, I think the Boston Celtics top six will be just too much for the Knicks to compete with for four quarters.

My final prediction is the Boston Celtics stealing one on the road to start the year off with a 108-101 win behind a big revenge game from the Unicorn himself, Kristaps Porzingis.
