It was reported on October 10th by Shams Charania that the Minnesota Timberwolves have waived former Boston Celtics folk hero Matt Ryan.

For those who may not remember, Ryan once worked at DoorDash to have a source of income while he waited for an opportunity to play in the NBA. That is something people all over the world can respect: someone who fights to keep their dreams alive is truly inspiring. Everyone all over the world can relate to the Ryan story.

With Minnesota giving up on Ryan, a comeback is now a possibility for a Cs team in need of shooting at every spot on the court. The one thing that you can never have enough of in the NBA is shooting, and the Cs know Ryan can provide that at an affordable price; and presumably, with positive locker room benefits to boot.

Boston Celtics would be smart to sign Matt Ryan to non-guaranteed contract

Ryan has already proven himself for the Cs during Summer League, so fans know that whether he’s playing garbage time minutes or in a big spot, the Notre Dame/Vanderbilt/Chattanooga product will give maximum effort.

The Boston Celtics have a lot of the right pieces already through years of diligent front-office work from Brad Stevens and Co., but having someone who can keep the other players motivated and inspired is just what the Celtics need so they can go and grab Banner 18.

Ryan, whether or not he lands with the Cs once again, deserves a role in the Association; and will likely warrant one for as long as he decides to chase his NBA dreams. At 26 years old, Ryan is smack in the middle of his athletic prime and is a finished product.

If you need shooting, which the Celtics do, Ryan should be getting a call ASAP.
