1. Game 2 of 2017 Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. Wizards

This was one of those “I remember where I was when it happened” kind of moments.

May 2, 2017. For some, it was the night when the Red Sox hit into a triple play against the Baltimore Orioles. For the majority of fans, it will forever be known as the pinnacle of Thomas’ time in green and white.

In the Eastern Conference Semifinals on his late sister’s birthday, Thomas had one of the most special nights in this storied playoff history of the Celts. As he said postgame, it was his sister who guided him to such an incredible game in order to put his team up 2-0 in the series. John Wall, whose 40-point display rightly gets overlooked could not match No. 4 in white.

The All-Star guard accounted for 18 made field goals, and 12 free throws. Arguably the most memorable point during that contest was when the All-Star point guard forced Markieff Morris into making a mistake in overtime. Two crossovers. A hesitation. A double clutch step back bucket and the foul.

It was magic in its most pure form.

He didn’t miss a single shot from the floor during the entire overtime, leading the Boston Celtics to an extra period where the team netted 10 more points than Washington. Even with the pain of a loss becoming a reality outside the arena, Thomas knew how to lock in on the basketball court.

No matter the obstacle, No. 4 in white that night provided some of the most uplifting, and mesmerizing 48 minutes in Boston sports lore.
