12 Way-too-early 2024 trade deadline candidates for Celtics to monitor
Reggie Bullock, San Antonio Spurs
If the Boston Celtics are looking to add another shooter at the NBA Trade Deadline, there’s another San Antonio Spurs veteran that could emerge as a potential candidate – Reggie Bullock. As part of a three-team sign-and-trade that sent Grant Williams to the Dallas Mavericks, Bullock, as a way to create more salary cap room, was sent to the Spurs in exchange for a few second-round picks. Bullock, an expiring contract after the season, is a player that isn’t expected to play a big part in the Spurs’ future.
If the right deal presents itself at the trade deadline, it would not be surprising to see Bullock join a contender for the stretch run. The Celtics could be that team in search of added depth at the small forward position. At just 32 years old, Bullock could be a worthy gamble for the Celtics. He’s had a rough last couple of years but he’s consistently been a good 3-point shooter (he shot 38 percent from 3 on five attempts per game last season in Dallas).
Again, the Celtics could have several options at the deadline if they’re looking for added shooting and depth on the wing. Bullock could very well be one of those options.
