Kelly Olynyk, Utah Jazz

As a former lottery pick of the Boston Celtics during the 2013 NBA Draft, it would be quite the story if Kelly Olynyk found a way to bring his journey full circle to conclude his career with the team that drafted him. And there’s a chance that could begin to happen this season at the NBA Trade Deadline. Olynyk is somewhat out of place as one of the lone true veterans of the Utah Jazz. Now that he’s entering the final year of his contract with the team, there’s probably a good chance he doesn’t end the season as a member of the Jazz roster.

Any team looking for depth in the frontcourt should be keeping a close eye on Olynyk’s situation with the Jazz. Olynyk may not be a great defender but he’s a proven shooter that can stretch opposing defenses and is an underrated passer and playmaker. He can play the power forward and even some small-ball 5 in the right situation.

The Celtics could emerge as somewhat of an ideal situation for Olynyk if he does get traded at the NBA Trade Deadline. Just due $12 million this season, that’s a contract the Celtics could find a way to absorb this season.
