Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls

With the growing probability that the Chicago Bulls could end up pivoting toward a rebuild at some point between now and the NBA Trade Deadline, if there’s one high-ceiling player that should be on the Boston Celtics’ radar, it’s Zach LaVine. Let me preface this by saying the fit may not be ideal but adding a talent like LaVine is not something the Celtics should completely ignore if it’s there.

The asking price would be high but the Celtics could theoretically cobble together enough salary and a couple of future first-round picks and a couple of second-round picks to make an intriguing offer that the Bulls could entertain. The big question is whether the Celtics would be comfortable with LaVine playing the point guard position. That’s far from a certainty, but a lineup of LaVine, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Robert Williams would be tough for any other team in the league to top.

Maybe we’re officially in the big four era (thanks to the Phoenix Suns)? Admittedly, this may seem like an unlikely proposition, but I don’t think a big move is entirely off the table for Boston heading into the trade deadline.
