Juancho Hernangomez

Juancho Hernangomez — also known as Bo Cruz from the movie “Hustle” — is a serious contender for the worst Celtic of all time. That might be an unfair statement to make, given the length of his time with Boston (just 18 games). Even so, it seems nearly impossible to find numbers as putrid as his.

During his brief time in Beantown, Hernangomez posted a field goal percentage of 18.5%. To make matters worse, the Spaniard only sunk 16.7% of his threes and 66.7% of his free throws.

Coming off of a career-best season with Minnesota, Juancho averaged 1.1 points per game in 18 total contests as a Celtic. Unsurprisingly, Hernangomez was shipped to San Antonio and then Utah by the end of that season.

Funnily enough, the six-foot-nine stretch four would have received a championship ring had Boston defeated Golden State in the 2022 NBA Finals.

In Denver, where Hernangomez spent the first four seasons of his career, the Nuggets’ play-by-play commentators coined the catchphrase “Juancho three, got you three,” reserved for when Juancho connected from beyond the arc.

Needless to say, Boston missed out on that version of Hernangomez as he went a sickening 3-for-18 from 3-point land. He also recorded twice as many turnovers as he did assists, marking the cherry on top of a very underwhelming sundae.

Most disappointing Celtic ever? He just might be.
