Develop: Jordan Walsh

The Boston Celtics took a worthy gamble on Jordan Walsh’s potential in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft. While he didn’t have a perfect run in NBA Summer League, he definitely showed some of those tools that Boston fell in love with in the pre-draft process. Walsh showed that he can be an intriguing offensive player down the line and enough on the defensive end of the floor where he has a solid foundation to build upon.

Walsh shot 41 percent from 3-point range in summer league and was not afraid of the opportunity. He looked like a player that’s only going to get better as he continues to get experience at this level. He’s far from a sure thing or even a complete player for the Celtics, which is not surprising as a second-round pick, but Boston may have landed a real future contributor in Walsh.

Maybe he takes this year to truly grow his game on the offensive end of the floor while honing his physical tools defensively as well. It’s hard to see him as a consistent contributor this season but he’s certainly a prospect worth investing in that could pay big dividends in the future.
