3. Celtics hope to maximize Martin

Caleb Martin broke out during the Heat’s run to the NBA Finals, but his twin brother Cody was limited to seven games because of injuries. He played less than one minute in the season opener before going down. The 6’5 wing returned in early January only to go out again after two weeks and miss the rest of the season.

Martin has plenty of potential on both ends of the floor, but the Hornets drafted Brandon Miller second overall and could be looking to clear more minutes for the talent prospect.

The Hornets drafted Nick Smith Jr. with the 27th overall pick, but they could look to bring him along slowly. If they plan on starting LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier, Charlotte may be interested in a backup guard that gives them some added playmaking.

The Boston Celtics would be buying low on Cody Martin after a down year, but there is no guarantee that he can make a postseason impact. Having a 6’5 wing with versatility and floor spacing ability is always a plus. The Celtics could move on from Payton Pritchard and get some playoff help in one trade if they can convince the Hornets to part with Martin.
