6. Jonathan Kuminga
Kuminga has been the subject of trade rumors after falling out of the Warriors’ playoff rotation last season, but the 6’8 forward cannot be written off. He is 20 years old and took a significant leap in his second NBA campaign. Kuminga was the seventh overall pick because of his potential on both ends of the floor, and it still exists.
Golden State is all-in on chasing another championship, but they have serious spending concerns on the horizon. Jonathan Kuminga becomes a restricted free agent in 2025, and the Dubs could look to deal him before having to pay him. Now, may be the perfect time to buy low on the 6’8 forward.
Finding a deal that makes sense for the Celtics is not easy, but Boston’s wing need may become so glaring that they are willing to give up draft capital to get someone like Kuminga. The 6’8 forward could be more than a 3-and-D wing, and he would have two elite players to learn from in Beantown.
The Boston Celtics are concerned about their current and future finances, which is why they dumped Grant Williams for draft picks. Giving Jaylen Brown a supermax will complicate things, but getting two years of a rookie contract could help keep their spending in check.
