8. Darko Milicic

Era: Lame Duck Administration

Disappointment Points: 1

This is a trivia question more than it is disappointing because I’d bet none of you even knew that Milicic was ever on the Celtics.

That’s because he played five total minutes for the team after two semi-productive seasons for Minnesota, snagging one rebound for the team along with a foul and two turnovers. Good stuff.

Now, let’s be fair. I don’t know many Celtics fans who were holding onto hope that the guy drafted above three Hall of Famers—and only one spot behind LeBron James—would actually bring the aging core back into contention.

But Milicic’s Celtics tenure was so unbelievably brief that I had to add it to the list. There is no way even the most cynical of Darko-haters believed he would be waived—per his own request—after the second game of the season.

These days, I hear he’s a farmer back home in Serbia and owns an apple orchard. Even if you weren’t personally offended by his tenure on the Celtics at least you came out of here with two fun facts: he played five minutes for the C’s and is an apple farmer. That’s pretty cool.
