Celtics Free Agent Target No. 6: Justin Holiday, Wing

Justin Holiday is one of the true journeyman players in the NBA, changing teams 10 times and counting during his career. That career included a one-year stop in New York, where he was a teammate of Kristaps Porzingis in the 2016-17 season.

Holiday doesn’t have anything flashy to his game, but he is a reliable veteran wing who shoots decently well from outside and plays his role well on both ends of the court. It’s nice to have a player or two on the roster who can come off the bench and execute what’s expected of them.

Celtics Free Agent Target No. 5: Will Barton, Small Forward

As recently as the 2021-22 season, Will Barton averaged 14.7 points per game as a full-time starter for the Denver Nuggets. He served as a secondary offensive hub for a Denver team without Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr. and did an admirable job.

Then the Nuggets dumped him on the Washington Wizards, which is where he and Porzingis played together. Barton had a truly terrible season, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field overall and playing matador defense. Did Barton suddenly cease being an NBA player, or is there still a useful wing in there? It may be worth a minimum deal to find out.
