Collin Sexton, Utah Jazz

It would be surprising if the Utah Jazz considered Collin Sexton as part of the team’s foundational core. He’s without question a talented player but is probably viewed as more of an asset for the Jazz than a keeper. There’s nothing wrong with that and perhaps this is the offseason in which the Jazz decides to move Sexton. If so, the Boston Celtics should explore the possibility of making a move for the 24-year-old guard.

Sexton averaged 14 points and three assists on 51 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range during his first season with the Jazz. They’re solid numbers but it wasn’t necessarily the production that Utah wants to see from a potential building block.

But the Celtics wouldn’t need Sexton to be that for them. In Boston, there’s reason to believe that Sexton could thrive in a lead role off the bench or even grow into a starting role next to Jaylen Brown in the backcourt.

The Celtics acquiring a player as talented and young as Sexton would be unfair to the rest of the league. But if there’s any team that could seemingly get the most out of Sexton, it’s the Celtics.
