Blake Griffin – Phoenix Suns

Six-time All-Star Blake Griffin was essentially brought in as an insurance policy for the Celtics this year, as he did not play much. The veteran’s productivity was at an all-time low due to his limited role with the Boston Celtics, so he likely will not be back next season. If Griffin is looking to head elsewhere, one team that would make sense is the Phoenix Suns.

With so many stars on their roster, the Suns have a hefty payroll and not a lot of depth at many of their positions. They’ll need to get a few quality contributors this off-season on cheap contracts to fix that issue, and Griffin could be a fine addition. He’s not the player he once was, but Griffin could still provide solid forward depth and energy off of the bench when called upon. Griffin’s ties to his former Nets teammate Kevin Durant could also make Phoenix an enticing landing spot.

As alluded to previously, Griffin would not command a lot of financial compensation from Phoenix. He’s looking at yet another minimum contract this off-season, so it would be a low-risk move for the cash-strapped Suns, especially with so many of their current forwards, including Torrey Craig, T.J. Warren, Terrence Ross, and Darius Bazley, all set to hit NBA free agency as well.
