6. San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are looking to improve their roster after winning the lottery. They will draft Victor Wembanyama on June 22, and San Antonio would love to give the most-hyped prospect since LeBron James a chance to compete in year one.

The Spurs’ biggest need this summer is a point guard. Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson are two young wings that continue to improve. Victor Wembanyama gives them a potentially elite big man with a unique skill set. He can stretch the floor, protect the rim, and score from anywhere on the court. Now, imagine Chris Paul setting up that young trio.

Gregg Popovich would certainly welcome CP3’s leadership as the Spurs look to build around Victor Wembanyama. Paul could teach the 7’4 big man what is like to be a superstar in the NBA, and they would form a dynamic pick-and-roll duo on the court that hands out nightmares to opposing coaches.

Victor Wembanyama will be the number one pick, and he could be one of the NBA’s best players in a couple of years, but Chris Paul is 38 years old. CP3 wants to win immediately, which is why he will likely choose a more veteran-laden roster to lead next season.
