Potential Boston Celtics offseason trade target Damian Lillard — who has often been linked to a swap involving Jaylen Brown should No. 7 desire a fresh start elsewhere — snubbed the Cs when he was asked by Brian Custer on Showtime’s “The Last Stand” his preferred landing spot between Boston, Brooklyn, and Miami.

“Miami, obviously,” Lillard prefaced before saying, “Bam (Adebayo) is my dog for real but Miami, obviously. Brooklyn is another obvious one because Mikal Bridges is my dog too.”

No mention of the Cs from Lillard could put the rumor to bed for good, although knowing the national media, there will be a shift to a different team’s star for a one-to-one swap involving Brown and Boston.

Kendrick Perkins endorsed a Jaylen Brown-Damian Lillard swap for the Boston Celtics

Former Boston Celtics championship center Kendrick Perkins endorsed the Cs trading Brown for Lillard back on the May 29 episode of Sportscenter, saying that the Trail Blazers floor general should be the team’s primary target while Hawks star Trae Young should be the backup plan.

“Brad Stevens and Wyc Grousbeck are going to have to take a hard look at whether or not they want to bring Jaylen Brown back and pair him up with Jayson Tatum, which I think they shouldn’t,” Perkins said (h/t NESN.com’s Adam London). “I think they should go out there and try to get a Damian Lillard, and if they fall short of getting him, go get a Trae Young.”

Lillard told Custer that there could be ramifications depending on Portland’s ability to put a winner on the floor.

“I want to have an opportunity to win in Portland,” Lillard said. “We got an opportunity, asset-wise, to build a team that can compete. If we can’t do that, then it’s a separate conversation we would have to have.”

Evidently, Lillard doesn’t seem too keen on the idea of being added to a Celtics roster that was a game away from the NBA Finals in place of Brown. Lillard doesn’t have a no-trade clause, though, so if Portland wants Brown, he’ll need to pack his bags and ship up to Boson.
