Luke Kornet

Considering all of the preseason hype Luke Kornet generated — he ran with the first-teamers in training camp following the arthroscopic knee surgery Robert Williams had that forced him to miss the first few months of the 2022-23 season –, the limited contributions the Boston Celtics got from the seven-footer led to the talk being talked by the pundits but the walk not being walked by the player.

With a $2.4 million salary, Kornet could find himself included in a Pritchard deal to make the money work, but it could also be worth flipping Kornet to a size-starved team for a second-round pick to roll the dice on an undervalued draft gem. If the Heat could find as many diamonds in the rough from the G-League as they have, it’s worth it for the Cs to attempt to do the same while also moving on from a center who couldn’t usurp Blake Griffin in the rotation.
