If Jaylen Brown were to become made available during the 2023 offseason by the Boston Celtics, Inside The Jazz’ Jared Koch believes the Utah Jazz have what the Cs could look for in a return for the All-NBA forward — including multiple draft picks and potential franchise building blocks of which to build on in the immediate and long-term.

“When it comes to potential suitors, the Utah Jazz offer a competitive package of a potential deal,” Koch wrote. “The Jazz already have some young talent to dish out if they wanted in Walker Kessler, Ochai Agbaji, and Talen Horton-Tucker, all three being 23-years-old and under. Combine this with the multitude of first round picks the team has stashed away until 2027, and there’s a serious asset pool to work with.”

Walker Kessler would be a slam-dunk center acquisition, but Boston would need to offload Robert Williams in another trade to truly find an immediate role for the Auburn product. Ochai Agbaji is not a top prospect at this point, but he showed potential with his shot during his rookie season and the Celtics have a need on the wing. Talen Horton-Tucker would be an intriguing addition due to his ability to stuff the stat sheet in all categories and his defensive motor.

Former Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge is a key Jaylen Brown connection in Utah

What makes Utah such an intriguing destination for Brown is the presence of Danny Ainge, the man that made Brown the No. 3 overall pick in 2016, in the Jazz front office. Ainge isn’t just a consultant either. He’s the current team president.

Ainge would have a top option role to hand Brown in Salt Lake City, but it’s hard not to point out the similarities to Boston when it comes to having a bad reputation with players. If Brown can look past that and find what he seeks as a team’s top option, the Jazz can be a legitimate suitor for No. 7.
