The Boston Celtics have pushed the Atlanta Hawks to the brink in their first-round series, and they have a chance to close it out in Game 5 on Tuesday night in Boston.

The Celtics have gotten huge contributions from Derrick White, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in this series, and two of those players are my targets in the prop market for Game 5.

Let’s break down the picks for this game, in which Boston is a 12-point favorite:

Hawks vs. Celtics best NBA prop bets

  • Jaylen Brown UNDER 9.5 Assists and Rebounds
  • Derrick White OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made

Jaylen Brown UNDER 9.5 Assists and Rebounds

Early in this series, I was all over Brown as a rebounder, but he failed to clear his prop in Games 2-4 after nabbing 12 in Game 1.

Oddsmakers have set Brown’s rebounds and assists prop at 9.5, which he could end up clearing with a big rebounding performance but I’m fading him here.

JB hasn’t recorded more than three assists in a game in this series, and he only has eight total rebounds since Game 1, failing to clear this number in three straight.

This could just be a matchup thing, with Atlanta and Boston both playing two bigs most of the time, so I’ll take the UNDER on Brown until he gets back to clearing the glass.

Derrick White OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made

Derrick White has been red hot for the Celtics from beyond the arc in this series, shooting 13-for-25 (52.0 percent) through four games.

White has hit three or more shots from deep in three of the four games in the series, and he took nine shots from 3 in Game 4.

A 38.1 percent 3-point shooter in the regular season, White is more than capable of knocking down open looks, and it’s huge to see his volume as high as it’s been in this series.

Until he cools off, White is a great bet at plus money to hit three more shots from deep at home in Game 5.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
