The Boston Celtics took what Jaylen Brown called the “best punch” from the Hawks in the first win of the series for Atlanta this past Friday — and look to rebound from what was even still a close contest in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals’ No. 2-No. 7 series.

Game 4 is a major bellwether game for how this increasingly chippy series could go. The Hawks defending their homecourt could lead to a close series that could wind up being decided in seven games. Boston winning would make it hard to picture Atlanta picking up its first win at the TD Garden during the 2023 postseason with their backs up against the wall.

Do the Celtics have it in them to bring the series back to Boston with a commanding lead? Or do the Hawks have a second straight victory against the Cs in store for an unpredictable Eastern Conference playoffs thus far?

Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

The Celtics stayed competitive throughout the entirety of Game 3 despite the Hawks shooting at an uncharacteristically high rate. It wasn’t enough to pull off what would’ve been a major statement win, but the competitiveness was a statement enough that Boston can handle Atlanta at its best.

Following Joe Mazzulla’s first postseason loss, the C’s defense should be able to keep the Hawks from shooting 56% again in Game 4 — and in turn, should be able to get control back. Lay the chalk here and get ready for an elimination game in Boston on Tuesday.
