The Boston Celtics have successfully defended their homecourt through the first two games of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals No. 2-No. 7 matchup against the Hawks, winning by 13 points in both contests.

Boston has shut down Trae Young so far, holding Atlanta’s star guard to 3/13 3-point shooting and 14/40 shooting overall, and forcing 10 turnovers from the Hawks’ floor general. While Dejounte Murray has shone and De’Andre Hunter has grown into a third-option caliber player, Atlanta has failed to get much from their frontcourt or second unit.

Will these troubling trends cease for the Hawks or will the Celtics continue to expose Atlanta as a team that will need to make significant changes during the offseason to compete in the Eastern Conference moving forward?

Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

The change in venues to the Hawks’ home floor may seem like a potential equalizer in a series that has been wildly far from equal thus far, but with a record of 24-17 at the State Farm Arena, Atlanta will need to rely on more than just the cheers of local fans to turn their fortunes around.

Young will have to start hitting shots and Clint Capela, John Collins, and Onyeka Okongwu will have to start providing easy points in the paint. The Houdini doesn’t see any of that happening though. In fact, a potential 5-point spread cover doesn’t sound possible for this Hawks team at this point.
