The Boston Celtics handled business in their series opener against the Hawks in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals’ No. 2-No. 7 matchup and on April 18, they’ll look to defend their home court and take a commanding 2-0 lead before jetting to Atlanta.

Game 2 will see an even wider spread than Game 1 due to a 112-99 putdown of the Hawks that was made to look like a much closer game due to a final score that saw a spirited fourth-quarter run by Atlanta. Boston held as much as a 30-point lead this past Saturday.

The TD Garden will be rocking once more as Celtics fans look to see Boston continue its quest for Banner 18 in a successful fashion. Can the Cs cover a sizeable spread for the second straight playoff game?

Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

Game 1 was convincing for the Celtics, who for the first time in a long time, looked capable of hanging their first banner from the TD Garden rafters since the days of Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo.

With a new Big Three of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White, and a first-year head coach in Joe Mazzulla who seemingly has his players focused on the bigger picture, the Celtics may be too great to not expect great things out of. Lay the chalk and prepare for the brooms to potentially get some use come this coming Sunday.
