Boston Celtics Sixth Man of the Year: Malcolm Brogdon

This one is pretty straightforward.

Malcolm Brogdon fully embraced his role as Boston’s sixth man this season. The 30-year-old guard came off the bench in all 67 games he played, averaging a cool 14.9 points per game on elite shooting splits while playing only 26 minutes a night.

Per 36 minutes, Brogdon averaged 20.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. Furthermore, it should not surprise Celtics fans if head coach Joe Mazzulla decides to increase Brogdon’s playing time this postseason.

Brogdon also ranked fourth among all NBA players in 3-point percentage, sinking 44.4% of his long-range attempts.

Brogdon’s impact as a three-level scorer, playmaker, and ball handler off the bench make him an obvious choice as Boston’s Sixth Man of the Year.

In fact, Brogdon is a leading candidate to win this year’s Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.

The veteran sharpshooter put together a truly historical season as he became the first player ever to record 225 assists, 250 rebounds, and 125 3-pointers off the bench.
