The Boston Celtics battle the 76ers on April 4 with a chance to clinch the No. 2 seed against the next team on the Eastern Conference totem pole — and can do so on Philadelphia’s home-court at the Wells Fargo Center.

Boston is coming into this one having won five of its last six games while Philly limps into this one having won just two of their last six games. The Celtics have an outside chance of stealing the No. 1 seed, sitting two games back with four games left and owning the tie-breaker over the Bucks.

Can the Cs take their final road game of the 2022-23 season or will the Sixers get a much-needed win themselves as a slight home favorite?

Possibly missing Jaylen Brown and definitely missing Robert Williams III still made the Celtics only a slight underdog on the road against a team looking to overtake them in the standings. Heading into the postseason, oddsmakers are evidently high on Boston considering their overcoming of an ugly post-All-Star break malaise that appeared capable of derailing the C’s momentum.

With Philly’s recent blowout loss to the Bucks calling into question their standing in the Eastern Conference contender’s club, a short-handed Celtics squad could, and in the Houdini’s opinion, should, keep them out of it altogether with the playoffs imminently set to begin.
