With two games separating the Boston Celtics and Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings following a 140-99 dismantling of Milwaukee by the Cs as of this writing, the second night of a back-to-back on March 31 for the Celtics against the Jazz can further make things interesting atop the east totem pole.

Utah was able to knock off Boston in stunning fashion 13 days ago, winning the game on a blocked Grant Williams game-winning layup attempt by Walker Kessler. Since then, the Jazz have gone just 2-4, falling out of contention for an NBA Play-in spot. The Celtics, by contrast, have gone 4-1.

A much-needed win Friday night on the TD Garden home floor could signal a photo finish to the 2022-23 season for the Celtics, with the east’s No. 1 seed being attainable in the final week and a half of the campaign. A loss would likely solidify them as the No. 2 seed in the postseason.
