The Boston Celtics battle the team with the top record in the NBA, the Bucks, on March 30 in what could be their final chance to make a run for the Eastern Conference’s postseason No. 1 seed following a win streak-snapping disappointment against the Wizards this past Tuesday.

The Celtics were fully healthy — minus offseason addition Danilo Gallinari, who has sat out the entire 2022-23 season and isn’t likely to make a return at any point — for the first time since March 6 but was unable to take out a Washington squad operating without two of its top three scorers, Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma. With the Bucks winning their last contest against the Pacers, the difference in the standings is now three games with just six left to lay for both teams.

With Milwaukee coming into this one with a chance to clinch homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, Boston undoubtedly has its back against the wall with several players on the injury report for Thursday’s national TV showdown.

It appears as though the Celtics are a team that is overly concerned with playoff seeding, but rather turning the switch on when the games start holding more weight — something star Jayson Tatum was “poisoned on” from former teammates Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson.

This will be a fight for three and a half quarters, but the Houdini expects a late pull-away from the Bucks as they essentially clinch the east’s top spot for the playoffs.
