The Boston Celtics are just two games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, and they’re presented with a great opportunity to close that gap by a game on Sunday.

The Celtics will host the 19-55 San Antonio Spurs, who have lost three-straight games ahead of today’s showdown.

Let’s take a look at the odds for today’s game and then I’ll give you my best bet.

Spurs vs. Celtics odds, spread, and total

Spurs vs. Celtics prediction and pick

Despite already being on opposite ends of the standings, the Spurs and Celtics could not be trending in more different directions.

Over their last three games, the Celtics have an effective field goal percentage of 60.1%, 3.7% higher than their season average. Meanwhile, the Spurs have an effective field goal percentage of that stretch of 47.9%, the worst mark in the NBA over that stretch and 4.6% lower than their season average.

Despite the large spread, don’t be afraid to lay the points with Boston. The Celtics lead the NBA in average scoring margin at +5.9, and their average scoring margin over their last three games is +15.7.

The Spurs, meanwhile, have lost their last three games by an average of 27.7 points. That is not a typo.
