With a three-game losing streak in the rearview mirror — one that shed light on some serious problems on both ends of the floor — the Boston Celtics front office could be convinced a change to the roster is needed.

No one is foolishly advocating for the superstar duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to be split up, and luckily Marcus Smart trade chatter is virtually non-existent at this point. A small splash would be the order of business the front office would take part in.

One such move would be to reacquire a former Celtic, Javonte Green, which could be an option considering the Chicago Bulls’ standing toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference. If a teardown in Chi-town is imminent, MassLive’s Brian Robb revealed what the Cs would offer them:

"“Green is on a very cheap deal ($1.8 million) that expires after this season and would be an upgrade over the likes of Justin Jackson and a potential defensive-minded alternative to Sam Hauser on the wing on certain nights. Boston wouldn’t probably give up much for him (a late second-round pick perhaps?) but that’s a call worth making if he is on the market.”"

Javonte Green would be a great Boston Celtics reunion

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens is all about bringing players he once coached back into the fold — and as the Daniel Theis/Aaron Nesmith for Malcolm Brogdon trade showed, he isn’t afraid to send back out his reacquisitions either.

Bringing back Al Horford was Stevens’ greatest front office achievement, and while Javonte Green would certainly not have the same impact as the former All-Star big man, he’d be exactly what the Cs need at this point in time.

With Zach LaVine’s issues with the Chicago Bulls publicly known, it could be only a matter of time before Green becomes available. If and when that happens,
