3 Payton Pritchard trades that would benefit the Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics send Payton Pritchard home
The next proposition would send Fast PP back home, or at least close to it. If Boston was shopping him, the Portland Trailblazers could be a team that has interest in buying. Unlike Utah, Portland is right behind the C’s for the most efficient bench in the league with a field goal percentage of 48%. Where the two teams differ is that the Blazers bench can’t drill shots from distance. Their 34% clip from downtown is 19th best in the league and could certainly use some improvement.
Again, Pritchard has traditionally been very efficient when it comes to shooting the three. He shot over 40% in both of his first two full seasons in Boston. Adding him to the reserves could not only help to space the floor in the Northwest, but add some creativity to the squad. We’ve seen Fast PP go on tears before where he’s been able to break down defenders and create his own shot. Why not take a chance on him if you’re the Blazers? As of now, they sit eighth in the tightly contested Western Conference and Damian Lillard looks to be back to playing his best ball. It might be a good idea to bring in some reinforcements to fortify the bench and help him out.
In return for Pritchard, Boston could ask for Justice Winslow. Winslow would be a solid addition to the bench and would add to the team’s wing depth. The former lottery pick is averaging just under eight points per game to go along with just under four assists and over five boards per game. He would hypothetically be able to fit into the Celtics offense because of his vision and willingness to move the ball. The area where the excitement comes to a halt is his shooting splits. Winslow shoots about 41% from the field and 31% from deep. Boston would have to hope his shooting improved as he got used to the new offensive system.
The hypothetical swap would see both teams use trade exceptions to make the money work.
