Chris Paul, who has been named to an All-NBA team 11 times — with four of those coming as an All-NBA First Teamer — will be making his return to the hardwood for the Phoenix Suns’ Wednesday night nationally-televised matchup with the Boston Celtics per Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.

The past two Finals runner-ups now own the best records in their respective conferences, though a win for the Cs would actually bump the Suns below the New Orleans Pelicans should NOLA knock off the Detroit Pistons home.

Paul last appeared for the Suns back on November 7, leaving the game early during Phoenix’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 37-year-old has been nursing a heel injury, which could be a reoccurring problem throughout the season,

The Boston Celtics could notch best win of the season against the Phoenix Suns

Knocking off the Memphis Grizzlies back on November 7 was perhaps the best win of the season for the Boston Celtics, but that’d be swiftly replaced by a Suns win in the dessert on Wednesday night on ESPN.

Phoenix has been to the mountaintops within the past several seasons, though the Milwaukee Bucks wouldn’t let them fully claim the wonky 2020-21 empty arena season. They are a proven unit with Chris Paul, and they’ve maintained all of their key pieces from that postseason run.

A win tonight would make it three in a row, and would build momentum ahead of a matchup with the Golden State Warriors Saturday. It’s arguable that Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins are being rested up against the Utah Jazz tonight to be at full strength for the Cs coming to the Bay.

Boston is the new measuring stick matchup for the rest of the league, but Phoenix is one of the biggest tests the Cs can have across the Association. There’s not a lot that Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and co. need to prove at this point in the regular season, needing a title to answer any legacy questions. However, there is plenty to be said about a potential Boston Celtics win at the aptly named Footprint Center in Downtown Phoenix.
