The Boston Celtics are back on the winning side of things following a one-night stay in New York City that came with a 103-92 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center, and they look to start a new win streak tonight against the Toronto Raptors at the Scotiabank Arena up in Canada.

Against the Nets, Boston was able to overcome an early Brooklyn shooting barrage in the opening minutes to grab a near wire-to-wire win with Kevin Durant (31 points) unable to lift up his teammates past a 92-point dud of a scoring night. As usual, Jayson Tatum (29 points, 11 rebounds) and Jaylen Brown (34 points, 10 rebounds) led the way with Malcolm Brogdon (13 points, eight assists, eight rebounds) pitching in more invaluable minutes off the bench.

The C’s opponent tonight, the Raptors, has been the definition of mediocre during the 2022-23 season. Toronto is one game above .500 and is 5-5 in their last 10 games, and injuries to Precious Achiuwa and Otto Porter have robbed the team of depth recently. Those two, in addition to former Boston Celtics forward Juan Hernangomez, won’t be in uniform on Monday, December 5.

While the Raptors remain dangerous as long as Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam are in the lineup, their depth could ultimately undo them — especially against a team like Boston.

Does Toronto knock off the Cs at home in a pick’em? Or does Boston sweep their back-to-back? Hardwood Houdini has your odds and a prediction for the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors on NBC Sports Boston, TSN, and NBA League Pass (all odds provided by WynnBET):

Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors odds, spread

The Celtics and Raptors have even odds at -110. The over/under for the game has been placed at 226.5 points.

Celtics vs. Raptors prediction

Thus far, Toronto has proven to be a mediocre team, and although they built up confidence against the Orlando Magic this past weekend, the Raptors are not a safe bet until they get their needed depth back.

Don’t overthink this one.

Pick: Celtics ML (-110)
