The Boston Celtics had their winning streak stopped at nine games with their loss to the Chicago Bulls last week, but they have already begun a new one with back-to-back home wins against the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings the day before and after Thanksgiving.

Now gunning for three in a row, the Cs host the 10-9 Washington Wizards for a Sunday night affair in the third contest of a six-game home stand — and they’ll have to do it without their 2022 All-NBA First Teamer since Jayson Tatum will be out with a left ankle sprain on Sunday.

Without the 30-point-per-game scorer in the lineup, the Celtics will be relying upon the likes of Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and the rest of the starting lineup and second unit that has helped Boston gather the best record in the NBA through the first 19 games.

Having lost their last two games, both to the Miami Heat, can the Wizards pull off a sizable Sunday evening upset? Or will the Celtics take care of a team oddsmakers are expecting them to beat handily? Hardwood Houdini has your odds and a prediction for the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards on NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports Washington, and NBA League Pass (all odds provided by WynnBET):

Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards odds, spread

The Celtics are 8-point favorites against the Kings at home. Sacramento is a +260 road underdog while Boston’s ML is set at -320. The over/under for the game has been placed at 222 points.

Celtics vs. Wizards prediction

Without Jayson Tatum in the lineup, it is hard to definitively take the Celtics by eight against a Wizards team with three 20-point scorers (Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, Kyle Kuzma) and an improved roster overall from last year.

While they did blow out Washington by 18 on October 30, that was under different circumstances. This one should remain closer either way, but the low point total should be surpassed, unlike last time.

Pick: 222o (-110)
