On Friday, November 18, the Boston Celtics look to run their win streak to nine — and look to improve their league-best record to 13-3 overall — as they take on the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center in the Big Easy.

Boston is coming off of a 126-101 destruction of the Atlanta Hawks this past Wednesday, getting contributions from all over the roster — with seven Celtics finishing with double-digit scoring totals.

The Cs have largely been led by Jayson Tatum, a legitimate MVP candidate in 2022-23, and Jaylen Brown, a likely shoo-in for his second All-Star Game appearance this coming February, but have gotten serious second-unit contributions of late. Payton Pritchard has risen in the absence of Malcolm Brogdon, having scored double-digits in three of his last four appearances. Sam Hauser has emerged as one of the elite role players in the NBA, shooting just under 50% from the 3-point line this season. Even Luke Kornet has come on as a capable backup pivot, going for 15 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in a brilliant outing in Atlanta.

Could this unit continue to gel en route to league domination, or will the Pelicans put together a home effort that can halt Boston’s winning ways? Hardwood Houdini has your odds and a prediction for the Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans, NBC Sports Boston, and Bally Sports South (all odds provided by WynnBET):

Boston Celtics vs. New Orleans Pelicans odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 2.5-point favorite against the Pelicans on the road. New Orleans is a home underdog at +120, with the Cs moneyline set at -140. The over/under for the game has been placed at 230.5 points.

Celtics vs. Pelicans prediction

The Boston Celtics are getting Malcolm Brogdon back against NOLA, and could also be getting Marcus Smart back. Now that Joe Mazzulla has learned just how potent his second unit could be, the rest of the league is seemingly on notice.

Sorry Pelicans, you’re next.

Pick: Celtics -2.5 (-110)
