The Boston Celtics have not lost in two weeks, reeling off seven wins in a row against a healthy mix of rebuilding teams and potential contenders in both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Since losing to a Cleveland Cavaliers squad, that slipped in the standings, on November 2, the Celtics have beaten the Bulls, Knicks, Grizzlies, Pistons (2x), Nuggets, and Thunder. On November 16, they take on an Atlanta Hawks team that is sitting right two spots behind them in the standings.

Atlanta’s most recent victory over the Milwaukee Bucks actually propelled Boston into the top spot. The Hawks are 6-4 in their last ten, more recently losing to the Utah Jazz and splitting a home-and-home with the Philadelphia 76ers before that Bucks win.

Atlanta is being led (predictably) by its backcourt duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Young is once again a near-double-double threat in 2022-23 while Murray is averaging 21/8/6 with over two steals per game. Their balanced starting lineup, completed by Clint Capela (11 points, 12 rebounds), John Collins (12.6 points, six rebounds), and De’Andre Hunter (15 points with a 37% 3-point conversion rate), has carried their offense while Onyeka Okongwu (eight points, 5.6 rebounds) has been a worthy sixth man.

With homecourt advantage, the Hawks pose one of the biggest challenges of the season so far for Boston. Will the Celtics respond with their eighth straight win Wednesday or will they need to rebuild in the Big Easy this Friday? Hardwood Houdini has your odds and a prediction for the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks on ESPN, NBC Sports Boston, and Bally Sports Southeast (all odds provided by WynnBET):

Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 2.5-point favorite against the Hawks on the road. Atlanta is a home underdog at +125, with the Cs moneyline set at -145. The over/under for the game has been placed at 232 points.

Celtics vs. Hawks prediction

Boston being a favorite has a lot to do with their win streak and less to do with a somewhat surging Hawks team that matches up well with the Celtics without Robert Williams III in the lineup. This one feels like it could go either way, but betting the over is always a smart bet when one offense is being led by Trae Young and the other is being led by Jayson Tatum and the national spotlight is on them.

Pick: 232o (-110)
